Function and Significance of Sealing Components

In hydraulic system and its system, sealing devices are used to prevent working substance leak and intrusion of outer dust and foreign body. Wherein, components play a part of sealing is sealing components.

External leakage can cause working substance waste. It can cause machine and environment pollution, even machine operation failure and human injury. Internal leakage can cause sudden drop of hydraulic system volume. As a result, required work pressure can not be reach, even the machine can not work. Minute dust grain intruding into hydraulic system can cause or accelerate wearing of hydraulic component friction pair, and further cause leakage. Therefore, sealing components and sealing devices are important part of hydraulic device. Their working reliability and serve life are important indicators to weigh hydraulic system.

Apart from clearance sealing, sealing components are applied on other sealing to make clearance between two coupling surfaces less than minimum clearance that the sealed liquid can pass.

For contact seal, there are self-sealing pressing seal and self-sealing sliding seal (namely lip seal).
